    sleep & work
I just can't wake up today. I have got my sleep so screwed up. I simply must stop napping. I find that I am so tired when I get home from work that I take a nap. Then I'm up too late. I have been at work for 2 hours now and I'm so sleepy, my eyelids are heavy. The bad part is, my office is in a house and I just keep thinking that there are actually beds upstairs and couches in the livingroom. I just keep thinking, if I could get another hour, I'd be so much better. Well, today my boss goes back to GA. maybe I can come in an hour later tomorrow.
I am so mad. A guy who was terminated from another company, came to my company last week. He sat here and said his new company was going to subcontract for my company. This was all a lie. He came into my office, found out what work I was doing and tried to steel it. I cannot believe it. Actually he did steel it, but didn't get all that he needed to do this work and had the nerve to call me asking for the work I did on this job! Talk about burning bridges. What is he thinking? This man is actually trying to put my company out of business. Me out of a job. My boss is so depressed about all this that he just doesn't even care. I hate it when he's depressed.

    Strange happening
I dropped my sister-in-law off at, what I thought was the airport, but it seems as though it was some sort of porthole to the World Wide Web! She's been gone 3 weeks however, all of the sudden there are now several photos of her on the internet. While she was in the intenet she wasn't able to call me or anyone else. She wasn't able to write a letter, she was just frozen in the internet. There are pictures of her on a boat, on a beach, eating and playing games. Tonight she came out of that building (airport?) and it's like she's alive again. She won't be "in" the internet anymore. She's back in her house and I can talk to her again.
    What a very strange happening.

    what's happening here.
74 weeks since my last entry?! WOW! I guess it's about time I did. The big news here is it looks like I'm not going to loose my job. It looks like my company is going to stay in business in Virginia. In addition to that, my company was awarded a HUGE contract out west. Yes, Las Vegas. Now, I've just got to get my boss to let me go out there and run the office. He's already agreed to let me go out for a short time to "set up" an office. Given the fact that I have an awesome assistant here (who can take over for me) and the fact that this job out there is so big (about 4 times the size of the operation in Virginia). I'm really hoping I get to move there. I've been looking at the apartment and house situation out there and I can get a very nice place there for what I pay for the small, old apt I have here.
    Wish me luck.

    There, are you happy, Michelle?

    Nautical phrases/terms
Have you ever noticed how often we use nautical terms and phrases in everyday life? Such as "she's going way overboard." Not meaning overboard from a boat at all.
What others can you think of?

    3 day weekend
Day 1: I've slept all day. It's 6 p.m. and I'm still in my pajamas! I'm sitting in front of my computer thinking that I've got to get showered and dressed and hit the grocery store for dinner when my sweetie comes in my office with a couple of slices of pizza on a plate for me! What a wonderful person. I LOVE PIZZA! I CAN STAY IN MY JAMMIES!
I've also had a personal victory. I've been playing Hexic at MSN games for about 2 years now and I finally made a black pearl! I did it. So, the plan for the rest of the night is to try to do it again and WIN THAT STUPID GAME!

    computer stuff
Everybody these days seems to have someone that they know that knows about computers or programs, ie and uncle, cousin, sister, brother, etc. I, actually seem to be that person for a lot of my family and friends. Of course, I, too have my own connection, my brother. I am so tickled, he has written a program just for me. He has just saved me hours and hours with this thing. I'm feeling very special. He even wrote in the properties of this program (called MUST) that it was written for the sole use of "me". THANK YOU, BIG BROTHER. YOU ARE THE COOLEST! I can't wait to use it.

    invading my space
Who can it be? Someone put pictures on my LJ! It wasn't me, but it was someone who knows me! That guy tossing the pizza looks just like me except for the mustache. Perhaps I should let mine grow.
OMG I just noticed the "Friends' Birthdays". I missed my sister's birthday last week. I am terrible. I've been so inconsiderate. Yesterday I was so concerned with one friend that I hurt my best friend. Best Friend, I'M SORRY, you're always so considerate of my feelings and I let you down. If you'll let me, I've got a whole list of "butt kissing" things I'm going to do for you to try to make up for my oops yesterday. Starting with an invite to dinner tomorrow?

    The Commonwealth
I just moved to a Commonwealth. Why is it that some "States" don't consider themselves a state? I am in Virginia and the court system, for example, will not even look at a document if it says "The State of Virginia" because they say they are not a state.

It's not a confederate defiance thing (I don't think), PA is the same way.

I'm just a little curious about this.
Any thoughts from Government Employees about this?

    DMV
I only joined LJ to post a comment on someone else’s LJ. Now, I find myself wanting to complain about the Department of Motor Vehicles. I have now been in the "Common Wealth of Virginia" (note Virginia does not consider itself a state, but a Common Wealth) for one month. In that time I have had to visit the DMV 5 times. All job related issues. Today I had to wait for 3.5 hours. When I finally got to the window I was unable to complete my transaction because the DMV had changed its policy last week. What organization changes policy in the middle of the month or even the week of Christmas? And is there a reason that every person that works at the DMV is (how do I get this pc?) not “American born” or more to the point, English is their second language? You have to listen with an accent! I’m not too sure how to do that. At any rate, tomorrow I’ve got to do it again.
